3-(Trifluoromethyl)cinnamaldehyde is an activating molecule that has been shown to be a potent activator of the parathyroid hormone receptor. It is an enantiopure compound and has a hydroxyl group, which can react with halides and other nucleophiles. 3-(Trifluoromethyl)cinnamaldehyde is used in the synthesis of amides and pseudohalides. This molecule can also form imine or calcimimetic strategies. 3-(Trifluoromethyl)cinnamaldehyde is not cytotoxic to cells.
