Informação sobre produto
2,2,3,3-Tetrafluoro-1,4-butanediol (TFB) is a difunctional ether that belongs to the group of fluorinated polyethers. It is a water-repellent solvent and can be used as a coating for textiles or paper. TFB has also been used in the synthesis of amines and diamines. TFB is synthesized by reacting ethylene diamine with dimethylol propionic acid in supercritical carbon dioxide at temperatures between 250-300°C. The chemical structure of TFB consists of two functional groups: an amine group and an alcohol group. These groups are separated by a methylene bridge (-CH2-) and two fluorine atoms are attached to the oxygen atom on the left side of the molecule. The compound has a gel permeation chromatography retention time of 3 minutes and 13 seconds.
