5-(Trifluoromethyl)-3-isoxazolamine is a synthetic compound that can be used as an antifungal and germicide. It is a fluorine containing heterocyclic amine that has been shown to possess antifungal activity against some strains of Candida albicans, Candida tropicale, and Candida krusei. 5-(Trifluoromethyl)-3-isoxazolamine also has the ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to their DNA. This inhibits the synthesis of RNA and protein in cells. 5-(Trifluoromethyl)-3-isoxazolamine is also known as hydroxylamine hydrochloride or fluorine sulfate.
