5-(Trifluoromethyl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole is a 5HT2C receptor antagonist that has been shown to have pharmacological activity. It also has fluorine atoms which act as antagonists at the 5HT2C receptor. The heterocyclic ring is made up of a five-membered ring with two adjacent oxygen atoms and one other heteroatom, which in this case is fluorine. The indoline group is an aromatic ring with two adjacent nitrogen atoms and one other heteroatom, again in this case fluorine. This drug also contains a halogen atom, which can be either chlorine or bromine.
