Tetrakis(diethylamino)titanium is a ferroelectric material that has been shown to be reactive with water vapor and amines. It is used in the preparation of polymers, such as pluronic p123, by reacting with an excess of ethylenediamine. Tetrakis(diethylamino)titanium also inhibits the growth rate of bacteria, which may be due to its ability to react with amines or other impurities. The reactive nature of tetrakis(diethylamino)titanium is likely due to its β-unsaturated ketones groups.
