1H-1,2,3-Triazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidine-5,7-diamine sulfate is a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis. It inhibits the transfer reactions that are needed for amino acid activation and is an analog of carbocyclic nucleosides. This compound has been shown to be active against yeast mutants resistant to other inhibitors of protein synthesis. 1H-1,2,3-Triazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidine-5,7-diamine sulfate has been shown to inhibit kinase activity in various strains of bacteria and yeast at concentrations that are well below the MICs for these organisms. The inhibition constant (Ki) for this compound was found to be 0.2 μM in vitro and 2 μM in vivo.
