Threo-ICI 118551 hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the release of calcium from the reticulum, which leads to decreased contractile function of the myocardium. In vivo studies have shown that threo-ICI 118551 hydrochloride can improve cardiac function in patients with chronic congestive heart failure.
