2-(Trifluoromethyl)quinoline is a biologically active compound that is structurally similar to trichloroacetic acid and trifluoroacetic acid. It has been shown to have antiviral properties, and has been found to be active against a number of viruses in vitro. 2-(Trifluoromethyl)quinoline also has antimalarial activity, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the growth of plasmodium parasites. This compound may be used as a synthetic intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds with biological activity.
