Descrição:p-Toluenesulfonyl hydrazide is a potent inhibitor of sugar transport. p-Toluenesulfonyl hydrazide binds to the basic protein and blocks the binding site for ATP, which is necessary for sugar transport. It also inhibits transcriptional regulation by interacting with RNA polymerase, preventing transcription and replication. This drug has been shown to be more effective than trifluoroacetic acid in inhibiting sugar transport in wild-type strains of bacteria, but less effective than trifluoroacetic acid in mutant strains of bacteria that lack an active ABC transporter system.
