This reaction is used as a model system for studying chemical reactions. 2,4,5-Trimethyloxazole has been shown to react with quinoline derivatives in the presence of anhydrous sodium to form a chromatographic method for the analysis of methyl ketones. In addition, 2,4,5-Trimethyloxazole can be used as a surface methodology for the study of replication inhibitors.
