Titanium(IV)oxide acetylacetonate is an additive for copper-based solar cells that has been shown to reduce the amount of copper needed in the cell. The addition of titanium(IV)oxide acetylacetonate to a solar cell increases the electron mobility and reduces the number of defects in the device, leading to a decrease in recombination losses. This additive also acts as an anti-oxidant, preventing oxidation by transition metals such as iron or chromium. Titanium(IV)oxide acetylacetonate can be used to create sensors that detect pollution levels and are oriented vertically or horizontally.
