2,4,6-Trifluorophenol is a fluorinated phenolic compound that has shown to be a potent inhibitor of oxygen transport in the presence of pancreatic cancer cells. It also inhibits the activity of carbon source and metal ion dependent enzymes, such as tumor cell line. 2,4,6-Trifluorophenol binds to the hydroxyl group on the enzyme's surface and prevents substrate binding. The oxygen transport inhibitory potential of 2,4,6-trifluorophenol was determined using an in vitro predictive model. In this model, it was found that 2,4,6-trifluorophenol is a potent inhibitor of oxygen transport with an inhibition potential of 9%.
