Thifensulfuron-methyl is used to control weeds in wheat, barley, and rice crops. Thifensulfuron-methyl has been shown to induce glomerular filtration rate in rats with congestive heart failure, while also reducing total body weight gain and improving renal function. This drug also has synergic effects on skin cancer cells when combined with active antiretroviral therapy.
