Tacalcitol monohydrate (TCM) is a ketone that is used as a topical agent for the treatment of psoriasis. TCM inhibits the development of skin cells by binding to polyunsaturated fatty acids and blocking the formation of an insoluble polymer. It also blocks tyrosine kinase, which may be involved in cancer cell proliferation. TCM inhibits the growth of lung cancer cells in culture.
