Tetrabutylammonium Dihydrogen Trifluoride is a chemical compound with the formula (CH)NHF. This colorless liquid has a strong affinity for oxygen, and can be used to synthesize organic compounds that contain hydroxyl groups or carbonyl groups. Tetrabutylammonium Dihydrogen Trifluoride is stable in the presence of water and other protic solvents, and can be obtained by heating copper chloride with hydrogen fluoride gas. The compound is soluble in ethers, acetone, ethanol, carbon tetrachloride, benzene, and chloroform. It has been shown to inhibit cancer cells and fatty esters in pharmaceutical preparations.
