Tetraethyl orthotitanate is a chemical compound that is stable in the presence of air and water. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with other metal ions, such as cobalt or nickel, when used for wastewater treatment. Tetraethyl orthotitanate also has potential applications in the removal of nitrogen from industrial and biological waste streams. The redox potential of this compound has been measured by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Tetraethyl orthotitanate is able to form chelates with metal ions and can be used in biological samples as a reducing agent to stabilize proteins. This compound can also be used as an x-ray crystal structure marker due to its high atomic number (Ti = 47).
