Informação sobre produto
- Tri-n-butylsulfonium iodide
Tributylsulfonium iodide is a high-activity, reactive, monomeric iodine compound. It has a molecular weight of about 157 and is a colorless to light yellow liquid. Tributylsulfonium iodide reacts with metal ions to form perovskites (a type of crystal) that are used in electrophotographic processes. This compound also reacts with methyl ketones to produce anions. Tributylsulfonium iodide is unstable and will react with air and water, producing tributyltin chloride and hydrogen iodide.
TBTI has three sulfur atoms bonded to one tin atom; the two outer sulfur atoms are bonded to each other while the third sulfur atom is bonded to the tin atom. The chemical formula for TBTI is (CH3)(CH2)SSi(CH3)3I.
