2,3,4-Trifluorobenzonitrile is a chemical compound that can be used in animal health. It is synthesized by reacting diazonium salt with 2,3,4-trifluorobenzoic acid in the presence of sodium carbonate. 2,3,4-Trifluorobenzonitrile has been shown to inhibit the activity of LP-PLA2 and Jak1 in cancer cells. This drug also inhibits the uptake of some drugs into animal cells and human serum. The uptake of 2,3,4-trifluorobenzonitrile is inhibited by pyrazoles which bind to its active site. The chlorine atom on the trifluorobenzonitrile ring makes it nucleophilic and reactive towards electrophilic substitutions.
