Descrição:
O-(Trifluoromethyl)benzyl amine is a human urinary metabolite that is an oxidase inhibitor. It inhibits the enzyme monoamine oxidase and has been shown to be effective against some cancers. This molecule has been found in the urine of cancer patients, but not in healthy individuals. O-(Trifluoromethyl)benzyl amine may also be used as a reuptake inhibitor of serotonin, which may have therapeutic effects in depression. The presence of this molecule in urine can be measured using analytical methods such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry or liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
