Tyr-W-MIF-1 inhibits the interactions between the thrombin receptor and other molecules such as heparin and antithrombin III. This inhibition leads to an inhibitory effect on tumor growth and treatment. Tyr-W-MIF-1 has also been shown to have antiinflammatory properties in animal models of autoimmune diseases.
