- Pyridazine, tetrafluoro-
Tetrafluoropyridazine is a fluorinating agent that has been used for the synthesis of polymers and metal carbonyls. It is also used as a nucleophile in organic reactions, including cycloaddition processes with unsaturated compounds. Tetrafluoropyridazine reacts with amines to form cyanuric acid, hydrogen fluoride, and ammonia. This compound emits light when it absorbs ultraviolet radiation and can be used in the synthesis of cyclic peptides. Tetrafluoropyridazine is reactive with nucleophilic nitrogen species. This chemical species can also be activated by light emission from the excited state in order to produce free radicals or other reactive intermediates.
