Trifluoromethylphosphane is a reactive, organometallic chemical that has been shown to be an effective insecticide and skin cancer treatment. It is also used as a fungicide and bactericide. Trifluoromethylphosphane reacts with amines to form carcinogenic nitrosamines. Trifluoromethylphosphane is also known to cause chronic pulmonary diseases, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory diseases. Trifluoromethylphosphane inhibits the production of prostaglandins in the body and has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro.
