2,3,5,6-Tetrafluoroanisole is a polyatomic molecule that contains four fluorine atoms. It has a molecular weight of 184.88 g/mol and a density of 1.097 g/cm3 at 20 °C. Tetrafluoroanisole is a halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon that has been shown to inhibit the H1N1 influenza virus (covid-19 pandemic), but not the H5N1 avian influenza virus. Tetrafluoroanisole's ring structure consists of two fused benzene rings and two singly bonded fluorine atoms in an ortho position on one ring. Computational methods have been used to study the vibrational frequencies and electron densities for tetrafluoroanisole.
