5-(Trifluoromethyl)pyrazin-2-amine is a heterocyclic compound that belongs to the group of heterocyclic compounds. It is a synthetic intermediate used in the preparation of other heterocyclic compounds. 5-(Trifluoromethyl)pyrazin-2-amine is synthesized by condensation of malonic acid and 2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine followed by heating with sodium nitrite in acetic acid. This chemical has been shown to have significant electronic properties and yields high yields when it undergoes nucleophilic substitution reactions. 5-(Trifluoromethyl)pyrazin-2-amine has also been synthesized as an intramolecular reaction with a steric effect.
