Trifluoromethyl-1-cyclopropylamine is a synthetic nucleoside analog that inhibits RNA replication by inhibiting the growth of cells in culture. Trifluoromethyl-1-cyclopropylamine is not active against viruses, and its activity against hepatitis B virus is limited to genotype 1. It has shown promising anti-hepatitis C virus (anti-HCV) activity in cell culture, with a chemotype and pharmacokinetic profile that may make it useful as a therapeutic agent for HCV infection.
