1-(2-Trifluoromethylphenyl)ethylamine is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of sulfonylating agents. It is used in the production of medicines, agrochemicals, and other organic compounds. 1-(2-Trifluoromethylphenyl)ethylamine can be synthesized by hydrogenolysis of phenylethylamine with sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid. The sulfonate group on 1-(2-Trifluoromethylphenyl)ethylamine is an ester with sulfuric acid. The efficiency of this reaction increases when it is carried out in ethyl alcohol.
