1,1,2-Trichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene is reactive and has been found to be a carcinogenic agent. It is used as a chemical intermediate in the production of other compounds. 1,1,2-Trichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene can react with trifluoroacetic acid or hydrogen fluoride to form reactive intermediates. It can also react with hydrochloric acid or fluoroacetic acid to form other reactive intermediates. This chemical can also react with sodium carbonate to produce sodium chloride and water. 1,1,2-Trichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene reacts with many organic compounds such as urea to produce ammonia and nitrogen gas.
