3-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-propenal is a nucleophilic amide that can be used to treat hyperparathyroidism. This molecule is able to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as calcimimetic and protein kinase C (PKC), which are involved in calcium uptake. 3-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-propenal has been shown to reduce the growth of cancer cells in vitro, including breast cancer cells, by inhibiting cellular metabolism. 3-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-propenal also inhibits mda-mb-231 cell growth by preventing the activation of nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB).
