Tris(1,1,1-Trifluoro-2,4-Pentanedionato)-Iron (TFT) is a 2-mercaptobenzimidazole that inhibits the growth of bacteria. TFT has been shown to be effective against various bacteria in animal models and in humans. It has also been shown to be effective against organisms resistant to other antibiotics such as methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). TFT binds to the bacterial ribosomes and prevents protein synthesis by inhibiting the transfer of tRNA from the amino acid chain to the ribosome. Tris(1,1,1-Trifluoro-2,4-Pentanedionato)-Iron is injected into infected tissue or body cavities as an antibacterial agent. This agent can also be used for atomization therapy and corrosion prevention. Tris(1,1,1-Trifluoro-2,
