Descrição:U18666A is a cyclase inhibitor that prevents the formation of cyclic AMP. This drug has been shown to inhibit melanogenesis in vitro and in vivo. U18666A inhibits the synthesis of cholesterol, which is an important component of cell membranes, and therefore may be effective against cancers. This drug also blocks RNA polymerase II-mediated transcription and has been used as a model system to study the regulation of transcription by ATP-binding cassette transporters. U18666A can cause neuronal death and may have potential as a pharmacological agent for cancer treatment.
