1-Undecene is a monomer that belongs to the polyunsaturated fatty acid family. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cervical cancer cells in vitro. 1-Undecene has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. 1-Undecene has a hydroxyl group at carbon 1 and an amide at carbon 3. The synthetic pathway for this molecule is as follows:
1) Isolation of raw material from natural sources such as plants or animals; 2) Synthesis of crude product; 3) Purification and characterization of purified product; 4) Preparation of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) template; 5) Amplification by PCR; 6) Purification and characterization of PCR products; 7) Synthesis using chemical methods, such as hydrogenation or nucleophilic substitution.
