Descrição:Vanadium disulfide is a light-sensitive solid that can be dispersed in water to form a stable, homogeneous solution. It has been used as an analytical chemistry reagent for the detection of sodium ions, potassium ions, and chloride ions. Vanadium disulfide also has peroxidase-like activity and can oxidize hydrogen peroxide to produce water and oxygen gas. The reactivity of vanadium disulfide is related to the presence of monolayers on the surface of the crystal. Low energy electrons are absorbed by vanadium atoms in these monolayers and converted into high values. This process leads to filament formation that increases the conductance of vanadium disulfide. Vanadium disulfide can be used in urine samples for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements to determine creatinine concentrations.
