C-Veratroylglycol is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the natural compound protocatechuic acid. Protocatechuic acid is an antioxidant found in many plants, such as Etoac extract, and has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. This antibody can be used for the treatment of cancers of the brain and cervix. C-Veratroylglycol has a dose-dependent effect on cancer cells. The protective effects are due to its ability to inhibit chemical reactions in cells, which helps prevent damage caused by reactive oxygen species. The specific antibody also prevents cell death by preventing cation channels from opening, which would allow calcium ions into the cell.
