Zinc nitrate hydrate is a chemical reagent that is used to produce zinc oxide. Zinc nitrate hydrate is also used as a substrate in radiation-sensitive applications, such as the film industry, where it reduces the amount of radiation needed for exposing films. The chemical structure of zinc nitrate hydrate includes two aminoterephthalic acid groups and one hydroxyl group. Chemiluminescence analysis shows that this compound emits light when heated by zirconium oxide.
