Informação sobre produto
Adenine is a purine base found in DNA and RNA. It binds to the sugar ribose through its N9 nitrogenous base, forming a heterocyclic compound called adenosine monophosphate (AMP). Adenine is also found in RNA and may be important for its structure and function. Adenine's hypochromicity makes it an ideal nucleotide for use in chromatography. Adenine can also form polymers with other compounds such as dextran, which are water-soluble. These polymers can be used as an anticoagulant or blood plasma volume expander. Adenine can also undergo carboxymethylation, which changes its optical properties and makes it more hydrophilic. The carboxymethylation reaction is reversible and adenine can return to its original state by hydrolysis of the methyl group from the carboxyl group.
