2-(3-Nitrophenyl)-1,3-dioxolane is a compound that contains a phenyl ring with three nitro groups. It is an intermolecular reaction product that stabilizes the nitro group through hydrogen bonds. This compound has been shown to have a conformation that is stabilized by hydrogen bonding as well as an x-ray crystal structure analysis. The x-ray crystal structure analysis showed that the 2-(3-nitrophenyl)-1,3-dioxolane molecule had a conformation similar to those of the other compounds in the series.
