2,5-Dimethoxypyrimidin-4-amine is an organic compound with the chemical formula NH2CH2COOH. This product is a colorless liquid that smells like ammonia and has a melting point of -3°C. 2,5-Dimethoxypyrimidin-4-amine can be used to synthesize other compounds. It reacts with hydroxylamine to form 2,5-dimethoxyhydrochloric acid and ammonium chloride. It also reacts with phosphorus oxychloride to generate chlorinated pyrimidine derivatives. Adding 2,5-dimethoxypyrimidin-4-amine to a solution containing an organic solvent (such as methanol) and sulfuric acid results in the formation of triazolo compounds.
