It has been shown to increase the production of hydroxyindoles and oxidant enzymes. 3-Amino-2,6-dimethylphenol also acts as a treatment for various skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. It can be found in many products including soaps, shampoos and lotions. 3-Amino-2,6-dimethylphenol can also be used as an intermediate for other chemicals such as methoxymethyl or dihydroxynaphthalenes.
