Bicyclohexane-4,4'-dione Monoethylene Ketal is an organic compound that is used in the industrial production of Taxol. It is a symmetric molecule with two possible stereoisomers, erythro and threo. This compound has been shown to be a homogeneous catalyst for the polymerization of ethylene, which can be used as a film or coating. Bicyclohexane-4,4'-dione Monoethylene Ketal has also been shown to inhibit cell growth in certain types of cancer and as a potential treatment for Parkinson's disease. This compound was first synthesized by Dr. John Nortaxol in 1954 using an asymmetric synthesis method.
