BRL 44408 is a maleate salt of a synthetic compound. It is used as an anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits the production of nitric oxide and prostaglandins. In rats, the drug has been shown to reduce blood pressure and norepinephrine levels, which may be due to its antidepressant treatment.
