Ent-9-hydroxy-15-oxo-16-kauren-19-oic acid beta-D-glucopyranosyl ester is a natural product isolated from the stem bark of Alstonia boonei. It has been shown to have antimicrobial and antiparasitic properties, as well as an ability to inhibit cell proliferation. This compound has also been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX). This inhibition may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting COX activity.
