• Descrição: ST271 is a novel, potent and selective inhibitor of bacterial DNA-dependent RNA polymerase. It has been shown to be active against Gram-positive bacteria that are resistant to ceftriaxone and erythromycin, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Enterococci (VRE). ST271 blocks the synthesis of proteins by inhibiting the enzyme ribosome. This drug also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit epidermal growth factor receptor phosphorylation.
