Triaziflam is a fungicide that inhibits protein synthesis. It binds to the carbonyl group of proteins, which blocks the incorporation of amino acids into new proteins. This leads to disruption of cellular function and ultimately cell death. Triaziflam has been shown to have synergistic biological properties with organophosphate insecticides and is used in combination with other chemicals as a seed treatment for cereals and legumes. Triaziflam is also used as an additive in animal feed because it inhibits lipid biosynthesis, leading to weight loss in animals.
