UNC1999 is a methyltransferase inhibitor that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cancer. UNC1999 inhibits the DNA methylation process, which is critical for cancer cell development. UNC1999 was found to be effective in inhibiting the growth of cells from patients with eye disorders and infectious diseases, as well as hl-60 cells. UNC1999 also inhibited the growth of pluripotent cells, which could lead to future treatments for cancers and other diseases where abnormal cell growth occurs.
