Descrição:AF38469 is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits the interaction between human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and its receptor. It has also been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro, but this effect has not been tested in vivo. AF38469 binds to the CD4 protein on T cells and blocks HIV's entry into the cell. The binding of AF38469 to CD4 prevents the activation of IL-2 receptors, which are required for T-cell proliferation. AF38469 may also be able to inhibit the progression of liver cancer by reducing hepatic steatosis and inhibiting insulin resistance in tissues such as pancreatic tissues.
