Informação sobre produto
2,5-Diacetoxy-2,5-dihydrofuran is a molecule that contains an acetoxy group and a phenoxy group. It can be synthesized by the acetonitrile hydrolysis of 2,5-dihydrofuran. The hydroxy groups on 2,5-dihydrofuran are converted to acetoxyl groups by reacting with acetic anhydride in the presence of sodium acetate. The product is purified by recrystallization from aqueous ethanol. 2,5-Diacetoxy-2,5-dihydrofuran has been studied as a possible drug for the treatment of cancer. This molecule is unsymmetrical and contains two different types of hydroxy groups and two different types of carbonyl groups.
2,5-Diacetoxy-2,5-dihydrofuran would react with chloride ions to produce chloro
