It has been shown to be effective as a polymerization reaction initiator and in the production of polymers. 3,3'-Dichlorobenzophenone can also be used in the synthesis of ethers and transporting substances. This compound is an ingredient in adhesives and varnishes, as well as a constituent in some plastics. 3,3'-Dichlorobenzophenone has been found to have photoconductive properties and can be used for electrochemical reactions.
