N-Hydroxy-1,8-naphthalimide is an anthelmintic drug that has been shown to have a clinical pathology profile and a polymeric matrix. It inhibits the growth of helminths by binding to polymeric matrix. This drug is also able to inhibit the formation of cationic polymerization in tissues and cell nuclei. N-Hydroxy-1,8-naphthalimide binds to the aromatic hydrocarbon group of the helminth molecule and prevents it from entering into cells. The drug may also bind to cationic polymers in tissues or cell nuclei and prevent them from forming.
