Isofebrifugine is an antimalarial drug that is extracted from a Chinese herb. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, as well as being clinically relevant for autoimmune diseases and prostate cancer cells. The basic structure of isofebrifugine is coumarin derivatives, which can be synthesized by ethylene diamine. Isofebrifugine has been shown to have low toxicity profiles in animal studies, but there are no human studies available yet. There are two synthesis methods for this drug: the asymmetric synthesis method and the non-symmetric synthesis method.
