• Descrição: SPP86 is a synthetic small molecule that inhibits the process of autophagy. It is a potent inhibitor of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and inhibits cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo. SPP86 also enhances the effects of other anticancer drugs, such as hydrogen sulfate, which is used to treat intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The mechanism of action of SPP86 may be due to its ability to inhibit kinase receptors, including EGFR mutant proteins, as well as its function as a neurotrophic factor. This drug has been shown to be effective in animal models for breast cancer resistant to EGFR inhibitors.
